Gun Room Sales Assistant
Ian Coley Sporting is one of the UK’s leading destinations for game and clay shooters. We are currently looking for a Sales Assistant to join our Gun Room team, with a primary focus on the sale and management of shotguns, firearms, airguns, cartridges and shooting accessories.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for shooting sports to work in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting customers with purchases of shotguns, rifles, airguns, ammunition, and shooting accessories
- Booking in new and second-hand guns and managing listings on Guntrader
- Valuing and purchasing second-hand guns
- Advising customers on repairs and servicing options
- Supporting with stock reordering across guns, cartridges, and accessories
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers
- Answering phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner
- General shop upkeep and housekeeping
- Assisting with cashing up and banking at the end of day
Ideal Candidate
- Enthusiastic about shooting sports, with sound knowledge of firearms, shotguns, ammunition and shooting accessories
- Experience in a similar retail environment or gun room is a bonus, though not essential
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Confident, organised, and proactive with good attention to detail
- A Shotgun Certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Comfortable using IT systems

This role involves weekend work (Saturdays only). You will need access to your own transport as we are based in a rural location.
