Come and shoot at our award winning shooting ground! Licence holders are welcome to guide themselves around our challenging layout of 24 Sporting stands each with a minimum of two traps; a 120ft High Tower and 4 smaller towers for game shots wanting to perfect their technique on driven pheasant or partridge, DTL and Double Trap layouts, plus a Grouse Butt and additional coaching targets. At any one time about 70 traps are in operation.
Easy practice even if you’re on your own. Our Promatic clay trap release system means that practice is easy even if you are on your own. Simply place your card on the Promatic automated system on the stand you wish to shoot, select individual practice and the target is released on a delay. When you have finished, return to the lodge, present your card and pay for the clays you have shot.
Licence Holders: Licence holders are welcome to use the ground unsupervised. You will need to bring your certificate with you and show it at time of arrival. Regretfully our Police 11/6 exception does not allow certificate holders to accompany non certificate holders around the ground.
Non-Licence Holders: Please note that we do not offer practice facilities for non-certificate holders. Regretfully due to Health & Safety, Legal, Risk Assessment, our Police 11/6 exception and Insurance issues, we cannot allow non certificate holders to shoot unless supervised by our own instructors. Individual lessons, Have-a-Go sessions and caddied rounds are all available for non certificate holders by prior booking.
We have adopted this policy following advice received from our legal advisors, trade bodies and our insurance company. These conditions are in place to protect us all and we ask that you respect this policy.
Cartridge Restrictions: The use of cartridges with a load exceeding 28g is strictly prohibited. The maximum permitted shot size is No. 6.
Specialty Stands: To avoid disappointment, our DTL and Double Trap stands must be pre-booked. Our Grouse Butt is available by appointment with an Instructor. Click here for more details.
