Highclere Castle

About Highclere Castle

Highclere Castle is one of England's most beautiful Victorian Castles set amidst 1,000 acres of spectacular parkland. The Carnarvon family has lived at Highclere since 1679, and the current Castle stands on the site of an earlier house, which in turn was built on the foundations of the medieval palace owned by the Bishops of Winchester for some 800 years.

Highclere Castle is set in 1,000 acres of sweeping parkland. This was designed for the 1st Earl of Carnarvon by the famous 18th century landscape gardener Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, and then developed by his son the 2nd Earl who like his father was passionate about the landscape. The estate is situated in varied topography and lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A days shooting at Highclere is extremely special, the sheer majesty of the Castle and the quality of the shooting make for the perfect package.

Days at Highclere are available through Ian Coley Sporting Agency, shooting begins mid October. Days start from 300.

This iconic English setting is without doubt one of the finest shoots in the UK.
