Prescombe Shoot
The Prescombe shoot is without doubt one of the finest partridge shoots in the country.
Situated in the Ebbesbourne Valley to the west of Salisbury, in the heart of the Wiltshire Downs. The Estate covers over 3,500 acres, allowing great flexibility and has the ability of showing some tremendous birds.
It is a classic partridge shoot and as the season progresses an increasing number of very high and testing pheasants compliment the partridge.
The topography is made up of a series of deep, steep valleys which, together with some carefully positioned cover, create some spectacular drives such as Hamilton’s, Monty’s and Revenge – a drive that challenges even the most experienced of guns.
The shoot lodge is situated at the centre of the Estate and where teams meet in the morning for tea & coffee on arrival. Elevenses is served in the field, where the Estate provide folding chairs so guns are able to enjoy their mid-morning refreshment.
In the early part of the season, lunch is served outside depending on the weather or alternatively in the conservatory.
As Prescombe has so much variety and drives on offer, teams quite often shoot back-to-back days and stay in one of the immaculately run hotels and pubs in the local area.
