SHOOTING GROUND - OPEN MONDAY - SATURDAY | 9AM - 5PM
We are an award-winning Shooting Ground located just outside Cheltenham in the heart of the Cotswolds – 8 minutes from Junction 11a of the M5 and easily accessible from London, the South West and the West Midlands.
Come and shoot at our award winning shooting ground!
Licence holders are welcome to guide themselves around our challenging layout of 24 Sporting stands each with a minimum of two traps; including a number of smaller towers and a 120ft High Tower for game shots wanting to perfect their technique on driven pheasant or partridge. We also have a DTL layout and Grouse Butt available for pre-booked sessions and tuition. At any one time about 70 traps are in operation.
Easy practice, even if you're on your own.
Our Promatic clay trap release system means that practice at the shooting ground is easy even if you are on your own. Simply place your card on the Promatic automated system on the stand you wish to shoot, select individual practice and the target is released on a delay. When you have finished, return to the lodge, present your card and pay for the clays you have shot.
Licence holders are welcome to use the ground unsupervised. You will need to bring your certificate with you and show it at time of arrival.
Please note that we do not offer practice facilities for non-certificate holders. Non-certificate holders may only shoot if supervised by one of our own Instructors. Individual lessons, Have-a-Go sessions and caddied rounds are all available by prior booking. Our current policy does not allow certificate holders to accompany non-certificate holders around the ground. These conditions are in place to protect us all and we ask that you respect this policy.
Coaching at our Shooting Ground
Coaching at the Shooting Ground is prohibited without prior permission from the Shooting School Manager. Coaches must provide a copy of their insurance, and a Green Fee of £25/hr will be chargeable.
Please note that from 1st June 2021 the Ground will be fibre wad only, apart from on competition days. The use of cartridges with a load exceeding 28g is strictly prohibited. The maximum permitted shot size is No. 6.
Ear, eye and head protection must be worn at all times on the shooting ground. If you need any of these, they are available at reception. All persons using these facilities do so at their own risk.
To avoid disappointment, our DTL layout must be pre-booked. Our Grouse Butt is available by appointment with an Instructor. Click here for more details.
