DANBY MOOR
About Danby Moor
Owned by the 12th Viscount Downe, the Moors have gone from strength to strength in recent years.
Through the dedication, expertise and passion of the keepering team, the moor has gone from strength to strength, consistently delivering exceptional sport while maintaining a healthy and sustainable stock for future seasons.
Set within some of North Yorkshire’s most breathtaking countryside, the moor enjoys spectacular views across the North Sea and the beautiful valleys of Little Fryup Dale and Great Fryup Dale, creating a truly memorable shooting experience.
Extending to over 10,500 acres, the moor offers two distinct beats, the high beat and the low beat, providing the opportunity for up to three consecutive days of outstanding driven grouse shooting. Each beat presents its own unique challenges and drives, ensuring varied and exciting sport throughout the season.
Hospitality is equally impressive, with each beat offering thoughtfully arranged refreshments and lunch. The lower section of the moor benefits from a beautifully refurbished shoot room, while the upper beat is served by a charming shepherd’s hut, providing a warm and welcoming setting in which to relax and reflect on the day’s sport.
Combining first-class grouse shooting, stunning scenery and exceptional hospitality, this is a moor that perfectly embodies the quality and sporting excellence represented by the Ian Coley Sporting Agency.
